They say the island is magical and that its’ sacred soil can heal various ailments as well as mend broken hearts. Perhaps that is why Can Skye a 9 bedroom 7 bathroom villa has been such a wonderful place for multi-generational family gatherings.

Situated in the deliciously go slow north of San Carlos and sprawled over vast densely rich grounds, Can Skye is a 300-year-old ancient finca with glistening white sugar cube walls that seem to whisper the sweetest things as you pass by. Sleepy mountains lay in the distance and the glass-like still ocean unfurls before you. Butterflies flutter around the watermelon coloured flowers and fruit orchards whilst palms stand tall and proud next to a variety of trees in fifty shades of gem-like greens. The surrounding countryside or “campo” as the Ibicencos call it oers panoramic views and is ideal for long walking adventures foraging, exploring and always bathing in its resplendent soul.

INSIDE

LIVING & KITCHEN

Inside the decor is a stylist’s dream fusing rustic bohemian elegance with glam velvet and opulence. There is love poured into every teeny tiny corner of Can Skye and the renovations are of exceptional boutique hotel standards. Everything is considered here and nothing is lost even the islands’ heritage. You can still feel and see the echoes of the past in the interiors from the honeyed Sabina wooden beams to the olive press. The living room features two deep sofas to slump into and the fully equipped modern kitchen has a social element flanked by lounge seating as well as a huge dining table.

Like the rest of the villa, each of the bedrooms is decorated with vintage and contemporary pieces and swathed in sumptuous linens for a night of deep sleep.

OUTSIDE

Let out an early morning Om on the yoga deck or splash about in the pool, along with the almost comical sheep noises and soft canter of a horse’s hoof, it might just be the only sounds you hear in this secluded space. Though its proximity to the wonderful village of San Carlos and the mellow yellow beaches of Cala nova make it fun and easy when entertaining groups of friends.

The many terraces and alfresco areas that weave around Can Skye also add to the come together tribal spirit of Can Skye though if you fancy stealing away solo you can do that easily too.
