Hidden high in the lush and highly desirable Atzaro Valley is Can Baboo, a sprawling six-bedroom estate that has been lovingly restored from its halcyon days of the 70s and 80s Ibiza to a more modern, yet still gloriously fun interpretation.
One for the non-traditionalist, Can Baboos interiors are an eclectic mashup of global influences. Bursting with a kaleidoscope of bright colours and prints, antique furniture sits juxtaposed to contemporary pieces, curious finds and one-off art. Renovated to a high spec, all rooms offer aircon and cosy under-floor heating, making this villa perfect not just for lazy summer days, but for the cooler seasons too.
With an abundance of outside areas to lounge in, it couldn’t be easier to relax while keeping a watchful eye on your little ones as they delight in the donkey farm or simply splash around in the pool. While its location makes it secluded, it is a short drive from the sleepy village of San Carlos and the buzzier Santa Eularia.

INSIDE
LIVING & KITCHEN
The open-plan living area has several zones, including a large lounge, dining room, kitchen, and snug or study. This is all located within the main villa, which has two floors.
Entertaining here is a joy as the main living room has plenty of seated areas for your guests to sink into, dirty martini in hand, while they admire the charismatic décor. Delight in the Persian Tabriz carpets, ancient Venetian marble stucco on the walls and feel the indulgence of travertine marble floors under your feet.
Vivacious, vibrant hues of blues, pinks and everything else in between are used to add colour while Designer Guild-fabrics and curtains mix with bold floral prints– all powerful elements that stamp a very unique style to Can Baboo.
For quieter nights, position yourself in front of the flat screen TV and enjoy binge-watching from one of 100s of international channels. Take a break from the screen and let the music play from your personal playlist piped via a Sonos wireless music system, all controlled from an iPad (these are found on all floors).
For more intimate setting, slip away to the study with the comforting option of curling up in front of the fire place on slightly chillier winter nights.
A fully-equipped kitchen with Smeg applicances offers culinary inspiration as royal blue kitchen surfaces meet with white-washed cupboards and mosaic tiles.

The dining area maximises on natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that encase the room on two sides and seats 8 people easily around a solid shabby-chic wooden table. As the sun descends dine under the light of the multi-coloured chandelier.

Each room is bursting with individuality, exuberant confidence and style. The main villa has two floors.
All rooms comes with underfloor heating, aircon, wifi, Sonos music system and are decorated to the high-quality spec with ancient Venetian marble stucco on the walls, travertine marble floors in main room and bathrooms. Most of the rooms also have a multi-channel flat screen TV.
Master suite located on the first floor – Retreat into your own private world in this large master suite. Vintage tables, boudoir-style lamps, and artwork from the Simona Marziani highlight the incredible attention to detail the owners have passionately applied throughout Can Baboo. With a large surround sound TV and a sumptuous sofa to watch it from at night time, the only escape you need is by throwing open the two terrace doors and looking out onto uninterrupted views of the sea, colourful gardens and the lush Morna Valley.
For the deepest nights sleep, sink dreamily into the specialised mattress on the double king-size bed.
Choose from a shower or luxuriate in the large en suite which has a shower and bath tub for you to choose from. Doors open out onto the terrace. A sofa, coffee table and TV give this room its own private suite feel.
Guest suite located on the ground floor – While this bedroom is the smallest of all, it is the perfect solution for accommodating guests on those evenings that turn to early-morning soirees. This bedroom with a queen-size bed and a large bathroom with a freestanding clawfoot bathtub.

Guest suite 3 – Feel the magic of the renaissance in this Venetian-inspired boudoir with tranquil views overlooking the fish pond and the ocean. Dream away in the opulent gold-framed king-size bed which sits on an antique Persian carpet. As with all the rooms, the owners have poured their heart and soul into the décor, every tiny details has been considered. Curated pieces of art by Simona Marziani, antique re-purposed armchairs, freestanding fringed lamps and tables all add to the ambience.
Step into your very own private spa like en suite — a refreshing shower or a long lazy bath is all you need to get back to you.
Guest suite 4 – Located by the donkey park and overlooking the lush gardens and pool, this is a room totally enveloped by nature, perfect for the serenity seekers. As with all the rooms, the owners have poured their heart and soul into the décor, every tiny details has been considered. Indulge in some channel hopping from the 100s of choices available on your flat screen TV, perhaps from the comfort of your dark wood Balinese-inspired four poster bed. Strip off for a rejuvenating shower or lie back in the deep bathtub, leaving your clothes to sit extravagantly on the floor or hidden away perfectly in the Morroccan closet. This suite offers you sanctuary and freedom.
Guest suite 5 – A peaceful suite, overlooking the Morna Valley, this is perfect if you find yourself needing to strike a work-life balance while away, or simply indulging your literary love by engaging in some early morning meditative writing. Upon request a beautiful antique writing table, fully equipped with a Lenovo computer and printer will arrive.
Take a breather and enjoy the opulent décor, as with all the rooms, the owners have poured their heart and soul into it, every tiny details has been considered. Velvet Carlucci curtains hang heavily, artworks, antique pieces, a crystal chandelier and Chinese furniture all sit harmoniously within the Venetian marble stucco walls. While a huge walk-in wardrobe ensures everything is packed neatly away.
The en suite has a large shower.
Guest suite 6 – For independent living this king-size en suite beach style villa is a dream. Contemporary-style wooden flooring flows through this neutral space. The perfect country studio, it also has the wonderful addition of a small but fully-equipped kitchen which means you can whip up a quick meal in moments and serve it for friends around the dining table that seats four.
For drinks and conversation, move over to the cleverly zoned out lounge area. With all the technical comforts of the other suites, this studio space will keep you entertained for days. When a digital detox is required, head out to your private wooden terrace for some meditation and yoga.
OUTSIDE
Designed for indoor-outdoor living, the hybrid spaces in Can Baboo work hard at feeling spacious while also retaining a sense of privacy.
For total tranquility, seek the solace of the Balinese meditation temple, admire the serenity of the Japanese-inspired fish pond and tea house. For more raucous gatherings, prepare a delicious grilled feast in the open BBQ area. Prefer a more Mediterranean style sharing platter, then eat alfresco, in the boho-chic style outside dining area.
